How Ellen Has Inspired YOUR Personally

As a long time Christian, and mother of a wonderful gay son, AND a sucka for good humor since I was a wee lass, I have to say that Ellen DeGeneres has been one of the most inspirational and influencial people in my life.

She has laughed and cried with me through major depression, loving a gay son, being condemned by others simply for my beliefs and claiming my place in this world IN SPITE of it's predjudices and ignorance.

She continues to set an example for me of how to be a good human being, her mama inspires me to be a proud and loving parent of a gay son, her humor helps me to laugh at the truly sad state of the right winged zealots still fighting for hatred in America and her generosity has moved me to be more giving every day of my life.

It may sound corny, but Ellen saved my life. I know she went through periods of severe depression and the overwhelming rejection of her peers when she came out and was put out. She came back, and so then, did I. If I ever meet her (I've been a guest on her show once, but did not get the pleasure of meeting her personally) I wouldn't know what to say, except, "Thank you..thank you..thank you."

I believe that God will bless her in a mighty way for her bravery, fortitude and life-giving humor.

Ellen has given me hope; inspiration, friendship, acceptance, instruction, laughter, love, example and most importantly the strenght to fight the good fight....until ALL are seen as equal..dogs, cats, gays, blacks, whites, asians, all creeds, religions, sects, denominations etc.etc.etc.

Acceptance is the answer to all of my problems today, whenever I find myself unable to accept something or someone just as they are, the problem is me. I can have no serenity until I have accepted that person, place or thing as being exactly where and what they should be at that exact moment.. I can't thank her enough and hope to hear from you... how Ellen has personally inspired you..the individual, the citizen, the mother/father, the friend, the comic... whoever you are, you wouldn't be here if Ellen hadn't inspired you in some way.
